Zscaler Acquires ShiftRight to Address Multiple Security Challenges

Zscaler announced that it has completed the acquisition of ShiftRight, a provider of closed-loop security workflow automation.

ShiftRight’s workflow automation technology is currently integrated with the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange cloud security platform to automate security management in the face of the growing influx of risks and incidents faced by organizations. This integration will provide a simple and sophisticated solution to dramatically reduce incident resolution time.

“I’m thrilled to welcome the ShiftRight team to the Zscaler family,” said Jay Chaudry, CEO, President and Founder of Zscaler. “The decision to acquire ShiftRight was the next logical step as we have seen the immense benefits of their technology during our pre-existing technology partnership. We will now extend the value of Zscaler’s platform with ShiftRight by simplifying IT operations and security by automating security workflows Integrating ShiftRight’s technology into Zscaler’s cloud platform will help customers establish clear lines of accountability and provide real-time visibility into their security posture. security. “

Security teams are held accountable, but not directly accountable, for many security-related actions. This misalignment has become a source of contention for organizations as the security landscape becomes cluttered, fragmented and complex. In practice, responsibility for cybersecurity is spread across multiple teams in an organization.

Security teams are forced to work with several separate groups to keep users and data safe. The current working model is an inefficient patchwork of error-prone spreadsheets intertwined with disparate systems where critical security issues slip through the cracks.

“ShiftRight is a natural fit for Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange by automating accountability and liability management for security teams,” said Sanjay Kalra, CEO of ShiftRight (now part of Zscaler). “As a capability built into Zscaler’s platform, ShiftRight’s technology will strengthen Zscaler’s offerings and transform security into a collaborative solution that enables internal teams to address a variety of security challenges, such as remediation, deployment , compliance and upgrades.”

The transaction closed during Zscaler’s fourth fiscal quarter, which ended July 31, 2022. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
