Shaun Maloney tested for Hibs by injury crisis with TEN star for St Johnstone
Shaun Maloney insists he was tested early in his managerial career by Hibs’ injury crisis.
The Hibees boss will be without at least ten first-team members when they face St Johnstone at Easter Road tomorrow.
Kevin Nisbet, Demi Mitchell, Chris Mueller, Paul McGinn, Paul Hanlon, Joe Newell, Kyle Magennis, Chris Mueller and Matt Macey are all screwed.
Rocky Bushiri is suspended.
James Scott, who is not in top form, may have to play tomorrow due to a lack of attack.
“It’s tough,” Maloney said. “It definitely tests me to come up with different answers.
“We found them against Ross County and against Celtic defensively, but we didn’t in Dundee.
“It’s a challenge. With the injuries, and also who we lost in the transfer window (Martin Boyle), we lack speed, goals and assists but I’m trying very hard to find the answers. to make us a bit more creative.”
Nisbet is out for the season with knee ligament damage against Celtic and will travel to England next week for proper assessment.
“Kevin is going down south next week and we’ll have the final schedule,” Maloney said. “It’s a really difficult situation for him and I will be there to support him.
“It’s a huge hurdle he has to overcome and his mindset has to be to come back as a better player, and I have no doubt he will.”
