CANFIELD, Ohio – Blue Sky Therapy is using telehealth to provide remote wheelchair assessments to patients at home.
So far, the practice has provided more than 100 reviews, in partnership with wheelchair maker and mobility services company Numotion.
âAt Blue Sky Therapy, patients are our top priority. When we discovered that some patients might not get their medically necessary wheelchairs or might have to wait indefinitely, we decided to act quickly to meet their needs and find a solution, âsaid Ashley Geer, COO clinics, in a report.
Sitting in a wheelchair is an important aspect of therapy, she continues, as it affects posture, functional mobility, daily activities and fall prevention. Blue Sky Therapy therapists work with certified assistive technology professionals to assess the patient based on their needs, then make recommendations for equipment and training.
âThrough this partnership, Blue Sky Therapy is able to assist with 100 wheelchair assessments and counts,â Geer said. âWe are proud to continue to provide quality services to patients in the comfort of their homes through teletherapy. ”
